Bruce Springsteen – Jack Of All Trades

Brilliant commentary on contemporary times by a brilliant song writer and performer.

Dawes – Time Spent In Los Angeles

A band that emerged fairly recently. Reminds me of trips to Los Angeles.

Katie Buckhaven – Famous Blue Raincoat

A cover of a Leonard Cohen song. Katie has one of the best voices I've heard and writes some cracking songs.

Tom Morello – The Fabled City

A member of Rage Against the Machine. Tom sings solo under the name of The Nightwatchman. He writes songs with a strong contemporary political resonance.

National Philharmonic Orchestra, 'Mascagni Intermezzo (Cavalleria Rusticana)

Famously used during the opening sequence of Scorsese's film Raging Bull.

John Coltrane – A Love Supreme

Classic, sublime jazz.

Leonard Cohen – Hallelujah

One of the great singer-songwriters and this is one of his best songs.

E lucevan le Stelle – from Puccini's Tosca

One of those arias that people who don't like opera will love.

Woody Guthrie – This Land Is Your Land

One of the greats.

Coope, Boyes & Simpson – We Got Fooled Again

Unaccompanied, harmonious 'folk' music that happens to make a salient social comment.
